Workshop Description:

In this presentation we will explore the integration of expressive art modalities into daily practice to help clients learn to regulate their nervous system and reconnect with their bodies.  We will highlight practical interventions that will be discussed as well as examine how they can be effectively used. This workshop will highlight the importance of using movement, breath work,  art,  clay  and collage.

The large majority of this workshop will be didactic, allowing participants to have the opportunity to not only learn about a variety of techniques, but also practice them throughout the day. We will discuss introducing the interventions, pacing them, and helping clients work within their optimal window of tolerance. Come with an open mind and be ready to engage throughout the day with your creative parts!  You will leave this workshop ready to employ these strategies  in your practice.

Learning Objectives:

1. Explain and implement breath work to address helping clients regulate their nervous system.

2. Understand and execute a variety of movement interventions to activate and regulate the nervous system.
