Workshop Description:

Very frequently, clients initiate or are being referred to therapy due to symptoms such as depression, anxieties, addictions, self-destructive behaviors, nightmares, flashbacks etc... most of the time with little or no memories. Clinicians tend to treat those symptoms as they interfere with client's ability to function normally in life, and these are usually also clients' expectations from therapy.

But as trauma-informed therapists, we know that those symptoms and behaviors tend to derive from past traumatic experiences, so now the question is how to get to the roots of those symptoms, how to access those painful memories that were suppressed sometimes for many years?

This workshop will give participants creative tools to explore and access those traumatic experiences in a gentle way, yet directly to the core of the pain, for healing and real recovery purposes.

Learning Objectives:

1. Learn ways to make clients understand that what they experience are emotional and physical outcome of past trauma.

2. Use creative ways to go around fear and resistance to access past traumatic experiences.

3. Find the key to the hidden memories.

4. Discover ways to uncover the trauma, drain the ‘pus’ and heal the wound.
